Atti 14,23: L’istituzione dei presbiteri da parte dell’apostolo

Il Signore Gesù ha avuto discepoli e seguaci, commensali, dai quali ha scelto 12 apostoli, essendo lui stesso il primo vero apostolo, l’inviato del Padre in questo mondo. È dalla predicazione degli Apostoli che nasce la chiesa la quale, lentamente si organizza nei servizi essenziali, come l’episcopato (ispezione sorveglianza), il presbitero o i presbiteri (gli anziani della comunità con la responsabilità di presiederla), i diaconi (ministri delle mense per l’assistenza dei poveri della chiesa).

LA PERICOPE ATTI 14,19-28

“19 Ma giunsero da Antiòchia e da Icònio alcuni Giudei, i quali persuasero la folla. Essi lapidarono Paolo e lo trascinarono fuori della città, credendolo morto. 20 Allora gli si fecero attorno i discepoli ed egli si alzò ed entrò in città. Il giorno dopo partì con Bàrnaba alla volta di Derbe. 21 Dopo aver annunciato il Vangelo a quella città e aver fatto un numero considerevole di discepoli, ritornarono a Listra, Icònio e Antiòchia, 22 confermando i discepoli ed esortandoli a restare saldi nella fede «perché – dicevano – dobbiamo entrare nel regno di Dio attraverso molte tribolazioni». 23 Designarono (G5500) quindi (G1161) per loro (G846) in ogni (G2596) Chiesa (G1577) alcuni anziani (G4245) e, dopo avere pregato (G4336) e (G3326) digiunato (G3521), li (G486) affidarono (G3908) al Signore (G2962), nel (G1519) quale (G3739) avevano creduto (G4100). 24 Attraversata poi la Pisìdia, raggiunsero la Panfìlia 25 e, dopo avere proclamato la Parola a Perge, scesero ad Attàlia; 26 di qui fecero vela per Antiòchia, là dove erano stati affidati alla grazia di Dio per l'opera che avevano compiuto. 27 Appena arrivati, riunirono la Chiesa e riferirono tutto quello che Dio aveva fatto per mezzo loro e come avesse aperto ai pagani la porta della fede. 28 E si fermarono per non poco tempo insieme ai discepoli.”
